21 April 2017

Welcome back and wishing you all a wonderful Term 2!

The second term is traditionally a very busy one and that is just how it started this year. The hockey clinic was well received and I am impressed with the skill displayed. The netball clinic as usual generated great excitement. Mountain to coast is well underway and classes are in full swing. A warm welcome to Mr Booysen who has been very well received.

I am privileged enough to be on Mountain to Coast for the very first time. It is certainly an experience to behold, natures classroom at work!

This term we will be focusing on treating each other with respect and kindness. Encourage your children to be kind to one another and show them how it is done.

I look forward to an amazing second quarter. Lots of exciting developments to look forward to.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Mountain to Coast vind huidiglik plaas en akademiese klasse is tans in volle swang. 'n Hartlike verwelkoming aan Mnr. Booysen.

Geniet 'n wonderlike naweek.

Busy Bees learning all about their families!

Autumn is in the air!

The Grade R’s have so enjoyed the warm autumn weather. They have made great contributions to discussions about autumn, seasonal changes and their impact. They were extremely enthusiastic about taking part in autumn walks, discovering things together, helping to contribute to the autumn nature table in class and documenting their findings on a record sheet. It was lovely to spend time outdoors, lying under the trees whilst they observed the leaves falling down.

Auditory Screening

Nine Grade R children visited ‘Hearing World’ on Thursday this week. They embraced the new experience and behaved incredibly well while patiently waiting for their classmates. The children kept themselves busy by chatting quietly, making patterns with shapes, building puzzles, reading and producing drawings. Thank you to David Curl, Hendrik Steyn and James Strachan for helping with transport.  The remainder of our group will visit ‘Hearing World’ on Tuesday next week. We are grateful to Di Kilpin and Sebastian Beaumont for offering to help out with lifts.

School Uniform

Please ensure your child is wearing plain white takkies to school as per uniform policy.

Grade 3 Veggie Market

The Vegetable Market was a huge success. The Grade 3 children did a spectacular job in promoting and selling their own homegrown veggies. We would like to thank each and every Grade 3 parent for their generous donations in making their first market so special. We would also like to extend our thanks to the parents and staff that kindly offered up their time in supporting Mrs Rostron with the setup and success of the market. It was truly a wonderful first experience.
