26 April 2017

After another short week the long weekend has arrived and the Harvest Festival is looming. With just over a week to go, preparations are in full swing. This year’s Harvest Festival and Trail run promises to be even bigger and better than last year.

We are fortunate to have Bottomless Coffee, Gian Groen, Kirsten Adams and the Somerset College Jazz Band as well as some of our children entertaining us on the day. There will be around 30 different local vendors as well as PA stalls available to see to your culinary needs. This year a number of sponsors have come on board and we are in a position to host an amazing event.

Remember to enter the trail runs through Quicket and to advertise the event to everyone you come in to contact with. Entries are picking up steadily and we would like as many runners as possible to enjoy our marvellous trails. Another batch of flyers will be distributed this weekend and we encourage you to place a poster on the inside of your car window for all to see.

An event like this goes a long way to developing our wonderful school both physically and as far as community spirit goes. There is plenty to be done and all hands will be required on the day. This event is the only Harvest Festival in the area and is set to become a long standing event in years to come. The success of the day will be determined by our collective efforts. I encourage you, if you haven’t already, to get involved. Contact your class representative if you have not been tasked, and would like to help. A massive thank you to the organisers and all of you who have put in a tremendous effort already. We are blessed to have so many selfless people in our community.

The swimming pool project is gaining momentum and we have received a number of pledges to donate toward this project. If you wish to make a contribution please contact Charlotte Kruger for further details.

Enjoy the long weekend.
